Villa website design comes down to one question: can a stranger who has never set foot in your house understand it, trust it and book it in a few minutes, on a phone as easily as on a laptop? The eight live villa websites below answer it in eight different ways, from a hillside in Ibiza to a fully staffed beach house in Mozambique.

Each one is shown the way a visitor sees it: the home page scrolls inside a laptop screen and inside a phone. Three are projects of Hotel Web Design (La Maison H, Villa Arty Riviera and Villa Bellerose). The other five are sites we did not build, picked for how they present the house and how guests book. Nothing is ranked: what matters is what you can borrow for your own villa. After the examples you will find the three ways guests book, what to check in a villa website template, and a checklist for phone and desktop.

What a villa website has to do

A villa is rented whole, to one family or one group, so the site sells a single place and has one goal: turn a visitor who likes the photos into a booking. Eight jobs do most of the work, and the examples below keep coming back to them.

  1. Say what the house is on the first screen. Guests, bedrooms, bathrooms. Indo House prints them as chips over its opening photo, Villa Bellerose puts them in a band just below the date search, and Mozambique Beach Villa turns them into four large counters.
  2. Show every room in large photos. A guest rents a building, not a listing, and wants to picture the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the pool and the terrace. Google’s documentation for vacation rental markup requires at least eight photos, among them one of a bedroom, one of a bathroom and one of a common area. It is a sensible minimum for the page of any villa, whether or not you ever use the markup.
  3. Let guests check dates without leaving the page. Villa Arty Riviera, Villa Bellerose, Casa la Vida Soñada and Mozambique Beach Villa put a date search over the opening photo or right beneath it. La Maison H and Indo House put a reservation button in the menu instead.
  4. Put the place next to the house. A villa is rented together with its surroundings. Villa Bellerose has an Around the villa section, Mozambique Beach Villa lists the reserves and villages nearby, and Indo House explains how to reach St. John from the airport.
  5. Add proof from other guests. Indo House shows three guest reviews on its home page, Casa la Vida Soñada one, and Mozambique Beach Villa rotates testimonials from several countries.
  6. Spell out the services. A cook, housekeeping and security at Mozambique Beach Villa, a concierge at La Maison H, concierge services in the Indo House menu. A villa with staff is a different purchase from one without, so say which one you offer.
  7. State the conditions before the booking starts. Indo House has a Rates & Calendar page and an FAQ, Casa la Vida Soñada a Rates & Policies page, Mozambique Beach Villa a Rates page, and Villa Arty Riviera a Rates & availability band on its home page. Villa Bluemarine shows its tourist rental license in its facts table.
  8. Work on a phone. Google indexes and ranks the mobile version of a page, so a villa website that is only comfortable on a laptop is judged on its weaker version. The checklist below goes through it.

8 villa website examples, analyzed

Each card has two scrolling screens, one for a laptop and one for a phone, then what we noticed on the live site in October 2026 and what to take from it. The link Our project (in French) opens the portfolio page of the three villas we built.

La Maison H

Luxury villa with a mirror pool · La Cadière-d’Azur, France

A 400 m² villa with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a 9,000 m² garden, a mirror pool, a spa for four to six people, an outdoor kitchen and a boules court. The home page opens on a full-width photo of the pool and its loungers, with the name of the villa and a one-line tagline over it. A short introduction sets the house on a hilltop above La Cadière-d’Azur, looking toward the sea and the Saint-Côme valley, and the key figures follow as icon blocks: size, bedrooms and bathrooms, garden, pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, boules court and concierge.

The menu has five entries: Home, La Maison, Activities & tourism, Contact & Access and Reservation. The last one opens the SuperHote booking application in a new tab, and a Book direct band repeats it further down the page. The site is in English and French.

Key takeaways

  • The key figures come as icon blocks right after a short introduction, so the size of the house is clear without reading the long text.
  • A five-entry menu with Reservation last keeps the road to booking obvious.

Villa Arty Riviera

Villa with a heated pool · Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France

A villa with a heated pool and an exotic garden in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The search bar is laid over the opening photos: check-in, check-out, travelers (one to eight) and children (zero to five), with a Reservation button in the corner. A guest can start a booking before reading a line.

The introduction ties the house to its village by naming Chagall, Picasso, Matisse and Yves Montand. Three link cards lead into the rest of the site, a Rates & availability band invites guests to check the calendar, and a carousel called The Villa in photos closes the home page. Bookings run on Booky, and the site is in English and French.

Key takeaways

  • The date search sits on the opening photo, so booking can start from the first screen.
  • The village is part of the pitch: the introduction names the artists tied to Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

Villa Bellerose

Family villa for up to 12 · Opal Coast, France

A holiday house on the Opal Coast that sleeps up to 12, with Montreuil-sur-Mer on one side and Le Touquet-Paris-Plage on the other. Two buttons open the page, Book your stay and Discover the villa, then come the date search and a colored band of figures: 12 travelers, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 5 parking spaces.

Practical details become features instead of paragraphs: a garden, a fireplace, games, a key safe for self check-in and a Pet friendly badge. An Around the villa section presents the region as cards. Bookings run on Booky, and the site is in English, French and Dutch.

Key takeaways

  • The capacity figures sit in one band, so the first question of a group is answered at a glance.
  • Self check-in and pets allowed are shown as selling points, not as fine print.

Villa Bluemarine

Secluded sea-view villa · Benirrás, Ibiza

A five-bedroom, four-bathroom villa on a 4,000 m² plot in the north of Ibiza, with an infinity pool and 180° panoramic sea views. The site reads like a slow, quiet scroll: large photos, a short story about the north of the island, then a table called Villa details at a glance with the location, bedrooms, bathrooms, plot size, pool, sea view and tourist rental license.

Booking is by request. Explore Availability opens a page that lists date ranges by season, and Request Availability leads to an enquiry. A WhatsApp button stays on screen throughout. According to the villa page, it sleeps ten, the beach is a ten-minute walk away and the airport a 25-minute drive. The site is in English only.

Key takeaways

  • A facts table answers the practical questions in one place: bedrooms, bathrooms, plot, pool, view, license.
  • Date ranges by season followed by an enquiry is a simple booking path when you prefer to confirm each stay yourself.

Indo House

Balinese-style waterfront villa · St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

A waterfront villa in Great Cruz Bay, about five minutes from the Cruz Bay ferry dock, with Balinese-inspired design, four bedrooms and five baths for eight guests. The headline says what it is, Luxury St John Vacation Rental, and small chips over the photo give the numbers: 8 guests, 4 bedrooms, 5 baths. A two-part menu groups the site into Explore (the villa, floor plan, gallery, video, concierge services, guest reviews, the team and a blog) and Plan (rates and calendar, FAQs, getting here, contact, a pre-booking form).

A Getting to St. John section explains the trip from the airport on St. Thomas by taxi and ferry, which matters on an island. Reserve opens a Lodgify checkout, and three guest reviews appear on the home page. The site is in English.

Key takeaways

  • A Plan menu puts rates, calendar, FAQs and the pre-booking form one click from every page.
  • A getting-there section suits a destination that takes a flight and a ferry.

Casa la Vida Soñada

Four-suite villa with a swim-up bar · Playa del Coco, Costa Rica

A newly built home in the Coco Bay Estates community, with four master suites (king beds and private bathrooms), more than 6,000 square feet of living space and an infinity-edge pool with a swim-up bar and seating for eight. Beaches are five minutes away and the Liberia airport is a 25-minute drive, and the opening text says so.

The hero carries a small widget for the check-in and check-out dates and the number of guests, beside a Book Now button that opens a Lodgify checkout. The footer says the site is powered by Lodgify. A currency switch sits in the top corner, and the menu runs from Overview, Map and Gallery to Rates & Policies, Availability, Reviews and local recommended services. One guest review is shown on the home page. The site is in English.

Mozambique Beach Villa

Staffed beach villa for 12 · Machangulo, Mozambique

A beach villa for 12 guests on the Machangulo peninsula, sold as a fully staffed house: the site says a cook, housekeeping and security come with it. After the welcome headline, four counters give the capacity (12 guests, 4 bedrooms, 12 beds and 4 bathrooms), and the equipment list is concrete: private pool, kitchen, walk-in fridge, braai and pizza oven, kayaks and fat bikes.

The hero holds an availability form with check-in and check-out dates, which leads to a booking confirmation page on the same site. Testimonials from guests of several countries rotate in a slider, and a Nearby Attractions section lists reserves, a village and an island around the villa. The menu is Home, About, Rooms, Rates, Activities, Community, Contact. The site is in English.

Key takeaways

  • Staff and services are stated as plainly as the bedrooms, because they are part of what the guest buys.
  • The availability form is on the first screen and the booking stays on the same site.

Olympus Villas

Fourteen private-pool villas · Olympus Riviera, Greece

Fourteen villas, each with a private pool, on the Olympus Riviera. The home page opens on a short video, with a Play video button and a Book now button. Further down, a slider gives every villa the same card: its name, icons for bedrooms, guests and bathrooms (Thetis: 4 bedrooms, 8 guests, 2 bathrooms; Efharis, labeled Sea view - Beachfront: 6 bedrooms, 12 guests) and two links, Discover and All villas.

The home page has no date search. Book now opens a separate booking site in a new tab. The site is in English and Greek.

Key takeaways

Which example is closest to your villa?

  • A family house where booking should start at once. Villa Bellerose and Villa Arty Riviera put the date search on or just under the opening photo, so a guest can begin from the first screen.
  • Luxury villa website design, with services. La Maison H and Mozambique Beach Villa show how to present a concierge, a spa or a full staff next to the house itself.
  • A secluded villa where you confirm each stay yourself. Villa Bluemarine shows availability by season and takes an enquiry.
  • A villa that rents through booking software. Indo House and Casa la Vida Soñada both finish on a Lodgify checkout page, and the footer of Casa la Vida Soñada says its site is powered by Lodgify.
  • Several villas in the same place. Olympus Villas gives every villa the same card so that guests can compare them.

Villa web design: three ways guests book

After the photos, the biggest design choice is the road from “I like this house” to “it is booked”. The eight sites use three of them.

Book on the site

The dates are chosen on the villa’s own pages and the booking goes on from there. Villa Arty Riviera and Villa Bellerose put a date search over the opening photo, and both take bookings with Booky. Mozambique Beach Villa puts an availability form on its first screen and sends it to a booking confirmation page on its own domain, which says whether the villa is free for those dates and offers a Reserve button. With this road the guest never has to write to anyone, and a guest in another time zone can book at any hour.

Ask first, then confirm

Villa Bluemarine lists date ranges by season and sends the guest to an enquiry, with a WhatsApp button always in view. This road gives the owner control over each stay. The price is a slower answer, so reply quickly: the guest is probably comparing several villas.

Hand off to a booking page

The villa site shows the house, and a booking system hosted elsewhere takes the reservation. La Maison H opens a SuperHote reservation page in a new tab, Olympus Villas opens a separate booking site, and Indo House and Casa la Vida Soñada send the guest to a Lodgify checkout. The advantage is that an existing system keeps working. The cost is that the guest changes site at the last step, which is why the booking page should repeat the villa’s name, photos and dates.

Villa booking engine: Booky, calendar sync and Google Hotels

Booky and calendar sync

Booky is the booking engine on Villa Arty Riviera and Villa Bellerose. Bookings taken with Booky carry no commission. Booky synchronizes calendars both ways with Booking, Airbnb, Homelidays and other platforms, so a week sold elsewhere is blocked on your site and the other way around. It also handles seasonal rates, arrival and departure days, stay-length rules, online payment with a deposit and a balance, a card imprint as a guarantee, legal invoices and scheduled emails. If you already use another engine, the site can integrate it, as La Maison H does with SuperHote.

Google Hotels, with a caveat

Hotel Web Design is listed in the official Google Hotels connectivity partner directory. Google runs vacation rentals as a program apart from hotels, and its starter guide for vacation rentals says who can be listed: property management companies that have their own booking website, and properties on booking sites already connected to the program. Partial houses and peer-to-peer rentals are not currently eligible. So whether a given villa can show its availability on Google has to be checked case by case before anything is set up.

Villa website templates: what to check before you pick one

Many owners start by searching for a villa website template or villa rental website templates, and for a first site a ready-made theme or a site builder can be a fair start. The question is what the template can do for a whole house rented as one unit. Open its demo on a phone, then go through these points.

  1. Is there a booking path? A template that offers photos and a contact form leaves the calendar and the payments to you, by hand. Ask which booking engines it works with, or whether it has its own.
  2. Does it sync calendars? If the villa is also on Booking or Airbnb, the template or its engine should import and export calendars (iCal) so that one week cannot be sold twice.
  3. Does the gallery do justice to the rooms? Look for full-width photos, one series per room, and a layout that does not jump while the images load.
  4. Can it carry your languages? A villa that welcomes guests from several countries needs each language on its own address. Villa Bellerose has English, French and Dutch, Olympus Villas English and Greek.
  5. Is it fast on a phone? Compare it with the Core Web Vitals thresholds in the checklist below instead of trusting the template’s own promises.
  6. Can you edit it yourself? Rates, photos and house rules change every season. If every change needs a developer, the site will lag behind the villa.

Casa la Vida Soñada shows what booking software can do on its own: its footer says it is powered by Lodgify, and it still gives Rates & Policies and Availability their own menu entries, with the distances to the beach and the airport in the opening text. A template can carry a villa well when the house is simple and the content is complete.

A template stops being enough when the house needs a look of its own (La Maison H, Villa Bluemarine), services to present, several villas to compare, or a booking flow that follows your rules. That is where a custom website pays for itself.

Villa website checklist: phone and desktop

On a phone

  • The date fields, or one clear Book button, are visible without scrolling. Mozambique Beach Villa shows its availability form on the first screen of the phone version, Olympus Villas puts Book now in the top corner, and Villa Bellerose keeps a Book button in the header.
  • Guests, bedrooms and bathrooms can be read without zooming. Indo House keeps its chips over the opening photo, and Villa Bellerose stacks its figures in a grid of four.
  • Text and buttons are large enough to tap, and the page never scrolls sideways.
  • You have run the booking path yourself, from the first screen to the confirmation, on a real phone.

On a desktop screen

  • The menu is short. La Maison H has five entries with Reservation last, and Indo House groups its pages into Explore and Plan.
  • The opening photo is large and carries either the date search or a reserve button.
  • Photos come in a gallery or a grid that follows the house room by room, with the pool, the terrace and the view each getting their own picture.

On both

  • The phone and the desktop versions hold the same content. Google uses the mobile version to index and rank, so text, headings and image descriptions that exist only on the desktop version do not count.
  • The pages are fast. The Core Web Vitals targets are a largest contentful paint within 2.5 seconds, an interaction to next paint of 200 milliseconds or less and a layout shift of 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of visits and reported for mobile and desktop separately.
  • Every photo has a description and fixed dimensions, so the text does not jump when it loads.
  • Minimum stay, arrival time, deposit, cancellation and pets are written before the booking starts.
  • If your location requires a registration or license number, show it, as Villa Bluemarine does for its tourist rental license.

Other accommodation websites

A villa sits between a vacation rental and a boutique hotel. For the same exercise on other kinds of lodging, see our vacation rental website examples. In French, we also cover mountain chalets, property managers, bed and breakfasts and holiday cottages and hotels.

Questions about villa websites

What should a villa website include?

Large photos of every room, the number of guests, bedrooms and bathrooms, the equipment (pool, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, parking), a way to check dates, the rules (minimum stay, deposit, cancellation, pets), the area around the villa and reviews from past guests. The eight examples above each cover most of these in a different way.

Does a villa website need a booking engine?

No, but without one every booking starts with a message. A booking engine shows the free dates and takes the reservation on the site at any hour. The alternative is an enquiry form, as on Villa Bluemarine, for owners who prefer to confirm each stay themselves. Bookings taken with Booky carry no commission; with another engine, check its contract.

How do I avoid double bookings when my villa is also listed on other platforms?

By synchronizing the calendars. Booky synchronizes both ways with Booking, Airbnb, Homelidays and other platforms, so a stay sold on one is blocked on the others. With another engine or a channel manager the principle is the same: ask whether the sync goes one way or both ways, and how often it refreshes.

Where can I find the best villa websites for inspiration?

Start with the eight in this article: three projects of ours and five independent sites from different countries and with different booking routes. Open them on a phone as well, and judge each on four points: how fast you understand the house, how easy it is to check dates, how much proof you get from other guests, and how clear the rules are.

Are villa website templates good enough?

For a first site, often yes, if the template handles booking, calendar sync, your languages and a fast phone version, all of which you can test on its demo. A custom design is worth it when the house needs a look of its own, services to present or several villas to compare, as at La Maison H or Olympus Villas.

Does a villa website need a mobile version?

Yes. The mobile version of a page is the one Google indexes and ranks, so the phone version must hold the same content, structured data and image descriptions as the desktop one, and it should meet the Core Web Vitals targets.

Why have my own website if my villa is already on Airbnb or Booking?

A platform brings visitors, and charges its own fees; your website keeps the booking, the relationship with the guest and the rules in your hands. With Booky, bookings taken on your site carry no commission, and calendar sync lets you keep both channels without double bookings.
